1: Lorem Ipsum

2: Administrative details

Our (imaginary) client is a researcher in Lorem Ipsum at the Dolor Sit Amet Institute in Trondheim. Laura has spent considerable time investigating and learning about this language, but has come to a halt. She has requested that we make a website that demonstrates the peculiar aspects of this language, with the hope that this may raise awareness and aid her research.

3: Testing document

Our testing questionaire consisted of the following questions:

  1. What is your profession?
    • Student
    • Graphic designer
    • Web page developer
    • other
  2. Was the website easy to navigate? yes/no
  3. Did you understand the tools the website provided? yes/no
  4. Did you find the information on the website to be helpful? yes/no

The user is also asked to elaborate if a negative answer is given. i.e if the website was difficult to navigate, what spesifically made it difficult?

4: Tester audience

A total of four persons tested the webpage. The testers' professions were as following:

The successfullness of our webpage is listed in percentage below, based on the three questions from our questionaire"

5: Testing platforms

Our users only tested the website on a desktop.

6: Feedback summary

The first feedback we got was that the picture in the header did not direct the user to the home page.

Two users noted that the translator didn't translate both ways.

From live testing we got the response that the webpage allowed for some sideways scrolling which was annoying to the user. i.e. the entire width of the webpage is not contained within the browser window.

7: Our response

That the picture in the header was supposed to direct the user back to the home page, was a feature we overlooked in the design of the webpage. This is however a normal feature to have on a webpage, so we are implementing it to the webpage as a response to the feedback.

The translator was intended from the beginning to only translate one way, the two-way translation could be implemented if we had enough extra time. In order to avoid the expectation of two-way translation, a text could be added that lets the user know that the translator only works one way.

8: Self reflection

Kasper: I have learnt that it is incredibly annoying to be on a group where some members at multiple occations don't show up to the meetings, and don't even bother to appologize and explain why they didn't show up. Still, against all odds, we have created a working webpage, and I'm now looking forward to being finished with the exam.

Hauk-Morten: I have learnt that even group tasks where only half the group shows up the first hour of meetings might complete their tasks. Even though the result might have been more impressive, I believe it fullfils the requirements. I have learnt much more about working with javascript, css and html, and I have gotten much more confident in using git and github.

Stine: There were some issues regarding the commitment and expectations which the group didn't properly resolve. Irregardless, the project finished without too many problems.

Eivind: This has probably been one of the easiest project I've ever done, and overall it was fun. Didn't really learn anything new, mostly just refreshed my knowledge of js. The group could have been better at communicating their working preferences, which did lead to some internal conflicts. Because this project was so short, it didn't affect the result notably and was the issues were largely ignored. In a longer, more difficult project, this would have to be resolved.
